Poole: "I’m surprised with what I’m doing"

"It was a tough stage from the get go, we were on the pedals all day. It was a pretty hard pace. I tried to push through the barrier and to focus on my race, I tried to not get too involved with all the action around me. I’m surprised with what I’m doing here. We’re towards the end of a long block of races for me. We came here with a young team, we wanted to try things. This is definitely a nice to be in and hopefully we can finish it off tomorrow. It’s always nice to be in a podium ceremony in a race like this. It’ super special. It’s been a pretty good race so far so hopefully we can keep it going tomorrow."
